Yes I have been ran to forge and other places many times for free or for tips, there is a lot of good runners out there, and I'm one of them. I usually run places for tips, even did forge runs for tips/free a few times. I don't run too much anymore because a lot of players are jerks. If there was a way to set up a running transaction, so the runner or the person being ran couldn't be scammed, I would make ALL my money by running everywhere without fear of being scammed!

Hi there,

May I ask why did you suggest to report his account?

It seems that there is just a disagreement in where to go, and what to do in a mission.

Probably for the same reason I would. When I play a game I don't like to be insulted. If I am in a group & get insulted then I just say bye bye & leave.
If you need the bonus jusk ask nicely "can we do the bonus?? I need it"
Call me a dumbass and you can do it yourself. If you can't talk to me nicely the you don't need my help.

Now I am not saying that I am elitest or anything, I play a game for FUN, if I want to be insulted I can visit my mother-in-law.

Well, there have been a few times that I have joined a group with my monk that is advertising that they are just doing the bonus, which is what I need. Well, I notice that we are going past it and when I say something people start saying that no we don't need to do it. At this point I have to insist that we do it, there is no reason for me to be there otherwise. It has happened a few times, that groups have decided not to do the bonus when that is the premise in which I joined the group. What option do I have other then to threaten to leave unless we do it? I have no problem with helping a group do the mission after doing the bonus. I always stay and help when people say they need it. The fact remains, they were trying to pull one over on me, am I a jerk for saying no?

The Biggest jerk I've ever encountered ^^

It was a nice evening in old ascalon I was sitting and tryingto sell a Hammer then someone whispers me.

Idiot: Where are u ?
Me: I'm at collectors it's less crowded than storage.

He comes and I do trade
the idiot suddenly shows me his Hammer and asks if mine is better than his

Me: Yes I like the bonuses on the one I'm selling better
Idiot:do u hav Victo's Bade ?
Me: nah not anymore I just sold it to a guildie
Idiot: where can u find it?
Me: Tombs
Idiot:where are tombs?
Me: In the desert ^^ after ascention
Idiot:can u get me there?
Me: Nah I'm no runner and it would probably cost alot getting there from Ascalon
Idiot:how much ?
Me: Ca 10 -15k I dont know never got ran there
Idiot can u give me money?
Me:no ^^ earn it yourself
Idiot:Give Gold plz!!!!!!!!!!

after a few of those I got error code=007 and got disconnected I'm kinda glad I got it. I've also had one that was asking me to give him steel from american Realm.

IMO. Not a jerk.
I have had exactly the same problems with bonuses. Group says "YES we are doing bonus" then proceed to ignore pleas to do it once in mission. I tell them I WILL stay and finish mission, but they keep on running.
One group I was in was forced to do it because the majority voted for it. As the minority (2 W/Mo) died after splitting up we carried on with the bonus then left them. The four of us then formed a group w/ 2 henchies and did the mission (I didn't have to, but enjoyed the jokes and chit-chat from them)

The last time I tried to do the Iron Mines bonus I asked if we could go in the back way since there is a bit less resistance. I was promptly told said back way did not exist. They continued in the way they were going without give a word I said any thought. Even after I explained where the entrance to the back way is. I decided to try despite being called a liar, and oddly enough DC'ed shortly after the first mursatt boss. That just felt like karma! Now that I have another set of armor I need to get infused I am going to try it with henchies. It is really odd that the person just straight told me it did not exist. What reason would I have to lie?

Casters who ignore you when you ask them to keep behind the warriors that are leading, or even better still, the casters that try to fight Marrow Scarabs at close raneg when you ask them not to. And when you ask them they either ignore you, or slap n00b comments back at you, even though they are acting like someone that's inexperienced!

Oh and the other one mocking my yellow bonelace armour and red hair on my nec in HoH, branding me a n00b! Another jerk!

Just a guess, did he have black dyed fissure armour????
I like using different colours, makes you look unique. Not like all the other run of the mill black dyed armour wearers.

I have a couple...again

I ran a kid somewhere for free a few weeks ago. I think it was from LA to ToA or something. After the run I told him that if he needed somewhere else in the future to let me know and if I had time I would be happy to help. He told me that his last "official runner" had recently retired his running character and would take me up on the offer.

About a week after that he came on and asked me for another run (also short and not too hard). I happily did it for him. After that run he announced that I was his "New Official Runner" and if I could run him to the forge later that would be great for him...I can't do the forge run well and told him so, but he told me I was still his official runner and would look me up for ALL his future runs.

Is that just abuse of my offer? I think so. Probably not really a jerk, just a kid that didn't know where to draw the line between accepting an offer and being a leeching nuisance.

2nd story

Got a 5-person team for an Sorrow's Oro run. 4 from a guild and me (one of them was a friend of mine). We had a modified 5-man team running a Ranger as the gear tank, all of us knew it was just for fun. It actually worked well when, as the bonder, I spammed convert hexes on her .

After that run, which did eventually end in a total wipe, most of the guildies had to go, so we my friend and I got another group.

For some reason the tank felt that it was a great idea to use sprint constantly while holding the gear and traveling around the Furnace. It made it very difficult for me to keep up all the bonds because I had to stop to use my blessed sig whenever it recharged, and our MM had a tough time keeping all his minions alive and not being total left behind. On more than one occasion the tank was far enough away that all my enchants dropped off of him from the distance.

I usually bring Watchful Sprit as a bonder because it is easy to maintain and helps out the healer a little bit (alot when I take it off). Throughout the first part of the run I felt as if I was constantly healing the tank with Watchful, and then being forced to recast it because the healer wasn't healing him, even when the tanks health was at 25%.

The tank and healer were friends, btw. The healer was constantly calling the tank a "fag" and "gay" and seemed to think he was pretty cool. When we got to defending Oro for the first time everything went ok, but I noticed that the healer cast very few spells...the main healing was done through my dropping watchful and renewing it.

The healer spent lots of time running around picking up white drops and very little time helping out. He got himself killed once by running too far away during a fight and was too far for me to recast Watchful. During a lull in the fighting he ran a long way from the group, toward an incoming group of baddies, to grab an enslavement stone and was subsequently ganked by the mob. I actually managed to keep everyone alive for a while after he died, but we eventually died.

Was I a jerk for yelling at him after we died, asking if that 30g enslavement stone was worth being wiped?

I did it with henchies about a week ago, actually going through the back way is the best way to get the bonus, as you clear out the mobs along the inquisitor's escape route and you can concentrate on killing him. He spawns with 4 mesmers when you talk to Ryder. - Just run up and get infused (that'll infuse the henchies, too), first.

Let's just face it a lot of people in this world are intolerance and unfriendly to other anyway; I had met more jerks in GW than friendly person that I would add on my friend list. Whether you’re grouping with newbie or experienced player, there are always problem.

My own experience with working newbie

I don’t mind doing quest/mission/Tomb/UW/other with newbie, in fact I am glad to help out and tell them what they need to do. The frustration was a lot of them they don’t listen to you, they just rush in enemies group and got the whole party killed.

Working with experienced player

I found a lot the experienced player are not tolerance of newbie, they expected everyone to know everything and refuse to help out the newbie by letting them know what they need to do. One time I was in the group doing some quest in Sorrow’s Furnace, one guy was talking crap about how some of us are stupid #$%@ base on our build before we even start doing the quest. After that he left the group.

Like I said, this world is full of unfriendly and intolerance people. you just need have to find some way to deal with it.

It seems that there is just a disagreement in where to go, and what to do in a mission.
He was being blatantly rude to other players. He never requested politely to help us with the bonus. He just started being heavily vitriolic, calling another player "dumber than aids" and calling us retards. I just don't have a lot of use for that. It was not a disagreement. A disagreement is when someone goes "Hey, let's do bonus" and another person goes, "Eh, I don't have time."

Being rude and offensive is not a disagreement, it's being rude and offensive. I knew the bonus for the mission and no one had suggested we do it when we were getting ready in Borlis Pass. And then once in the mission no one said anything about it until he called us dumbasses. I was up for it, I had the time. All he had to do was politely ask. Even if he went "zomg u nubs bonus", fine. But calling us retards, dumbasses, and singling someone out as "dumber than aids" is simply uncalled for and not what you do in a *game*. I don't understand why people can't just have fun and be nice to each other. :|

I join a group in the Frost Gate Mission, random PUG.

Me: Hello, I am an MM, with Vereta's and BOTM
Jerk: I am the MM, but I only have Vereta's.
Me: I am the MM, because I have BOTM as well as Vereta's right?
Jerk: You f-ing RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO, I hate this game because people like you come and play, I live to kill faggots like you.
Jerk: f-off mothersucking arrogant ponce.
Me: umm...I said I am the MM because I have one more heal skill for my minions than you.
Me: And you freak, I am trying to be nice, but seriously, did you run out of your medication?
Me: *kicked from PUG*

And that is why I am never joing a group with an mesmer/monk who has a japanese name, and who acts like he is british

The group leader was the Mes, his guildie was the MM who was name Tokigawa Something or other, I dont know. But he was like british and japanese. I think...

It's even more pathetic when they think that 15k armour makes them a better player.
It is possible to have a character in 15k armour in just a few hours from scratch.

For instance: I have enough cash to buy the materials needed & get a run to wherever i need to go to get 15k armour (grotto or citadel), This can be done as soon as I leave pre-searing.
Does that make me a good player because I have 15k armour?? NO, all it means is I have enough to buy my way to LOOKING like a good player!
